What is magic?


“It’s just how things work out

When you try and you push

Overcoming self-doubt."

 

What is magic?

“It’s just a lucky coincidence

That came from hard work,

And therein lies its significance."

 

What is magic?

Some would say:

“It’s just an event with low probability”

Too frightened to accept the possibility

That maybe, just maybe, it is so much more

explained neither by logic nor reason,

Nor by the minds of great thinkers that came before.

 

What is Magic?

I don’t presume to have a perfect explanation,

But it much more than just my wild imagination

When I say that magic’s all around

And it is always there to be found.

 

It’s a feeling you treasure so deep inside

That no one could take from you

No matter how hard they tried,

It’s a secret you carry around in your heart

That takes you through anything when the world falls apart,

It’s a decision to hear what the rest would ignore

A choice to believe that comes from your core,

It’s the depth of the stare that comes from within

The daring to see what no one has seen,

It’s in a smile that warms up your soul

In the kindness received and the kindness you show,

It’s in the love you give and take every day

In the beautiful friendships that are there to stay,

It is the laughter that you share

It is the deepness of your care…

 

It is all this and so much more,

And it’s yours to believe in or yours to ignore
